They are all gone away,
The house is shut and still,*
There is nothing more to say.
Through broken walls and gray

注释:
*这是悼念美国9.11事件和被飞机撞毁的纽约世贸中心大楼的诗歌。
题目指的就是世贸中心。本诗内容十分简单,最大的特点就是不断
重复两句话:“他们都不在了”和“再也没什么好说了”。表明世
贸中心已毁,人们感到十分绝望。特别是“再也没什么好说了”一
句,表达了诗人深切的痛心和怀念,连对大楼的回忆都无从下笔了。
本诗韵律十分简单和有规律,节奏为抑扬格,压韵都是/ei/, /il/
和/ei/。
*房子关着而一切寂静。
*残垣断壁间,只有孤零零的寒风在尖叫。
*如今也没有人谈论它们的好坏。
*为何我们还要在剩下的基石前久久徘徊?
*我们为他们所作表演再稀奇也不过是浪费技巧。
