芭比娃娃

    20世纪40年代中期，年轻的露丝和埃利奥特·汉得勒夫妇拥有一家生产木制像框的公司。1945年，露丝，埃利奥特·汉得勒和他们的好友哈罗德·麦特森合开了一家公司，也就是后来最成功的举世文明的玩具公司。这家公司被命名为麦特尔（MATTEL）。其中“MATT”来自麦特森，“EL”取自埃利奥特。

    在20世纪50年代中期，露丝·汉得勒在瑞士浏览的时候买了一个德国洋娃娃莉莉。莉莉是一个身体窈窕，颇为时髦的洋娃娃，最初制于1955年，她源自于《西德时事通讯》的一个著名的漫画人物——碧尔得。

    莉莉激发了露丝·汉得勒设计芭比娃娃的灵感。在麦特尔公司技术人员的帮助下，芭比娃娃诞生了。露丝雇佣了一个服装设计师——夏洛克·约翰逊来为芭比设计服装。1958年，芭比娃娃获得专利。不同于她同时代的任何一个娃娃，芭比非常时髦。她两腿修长，身体苗条，十分美丽，但只有11.5英寸高。露丝和埃利奥特以自己的女儿芭比为这个新型的洋娃娃命名。

    1959年，芭比娃娃参加纽约玩具展，并获得玩具商的青睐。

    在近几年中，芭比娃娃在不断变化并在发型，化装和服饰上紧跟潮流。自从她进入玩具市场以来，她就是服装演变历史的见证。

    芭比娃娃对全世界都有着一种吸引力，她的收集者，无论老少，都喜欢和芭比娃娃共度时光以及沉浸在有关她的记忆中。

　

　

　

The Barbie Dolls

Barbie doll is very lovely. Do you like the Barbie doll? Do you know who created the Barbie doll?

In the mid 1950's, while visiting Switzerland , Ruth Handler bought a German Lilli doll. Lilli was a shapely, pretty fashion doll first made in 1955. Lilli is the doll that would inspire Ruth Handler to design the Barbie doll. With the help of her technicians and engineers at Mattel, Barbie was born. Ruth then hired Charlotte Johhson, a fashion designer , to create Barbie's wardrobe.  Barbie doll is long limbed, shapely and beautiful and only 11.5 foot tall. Ruth and Elliot named their new fashion doll after their own daughter, Barbie. In 1959, Barbie doll was warmly welcomed in New York.

Barbie has changed a lot over the years and has managed to keep up with current trends in hairstyles , make up and clothing. It has been popular all over the years.

Both young and old enjoy Barbie dolls.
